All subjective JP, have seen many discussions on which fuel to use. Saw one where people were saying fuel sold at supermarkets was inferior, people were getting very heated.
A guy who had worked at the distributors came in and informed us that the fuel was taken from the same tanks at the depot.
You seemed to indicate that the tesco fuel was "even more responsive and super smooth compared to shell" I have used both shell and BP and not noticed any difference whatsoever as car is super smooth and responsive with both. When I get chance I will fill up with tesco momentum to see if I can notice anything but doubt if I will.
BP have changed their ultimate range to ultimate with active technology and it is supposed to keep the engine cleaner.
