Mercedes UK in conjunction with my local dealer have proposed fitting 'Vredestein' all season tyres at their cost to my wifes GLC 250d AMG LINE on 20's. We had the car new back in May 2016 and I've been on several other forums and posted about our issue since. Going back I got the 'off the shelf' Mercedes letter about this being a 'characteristic' and not a safety issue etc.
I've had great support from our local dealership even before MB were willing to do something about this at a nationwide level. We had a front axle set of Pirelli full winter tyres fitted by the dealership at their cost during December 2016 which completely masked the issue during the cold months. Not ideal but transformed the car.
I have no knowledge about Vredestein tyres so would appreciate any input from this forum. As it stands they were supposed to be fitted (full set of 4 obviously) on Thursday this week, however, I have stalled them as i'm not sure I am happy with the proposal. Apparently the Vredestein all season tyre is the one MB are backing to mask the issue best on 20" wheels, but am I going to be sacrificing good weather braking, handling, feel etc to mask the judder??
