I lost one of our two key fobs (embarrassingly it fell in toilet as it was flushing) and called today to get idea of process and cost to replace. Also took the car in due to recent recall (wiring harness in steering column).

Ends up the new key (which is keyless go) will cost $680.00. I know I am in Chicago, but still - doesn't this seem really excessive?

Does anyone else have any experience with this?

My friend lost the keys to his Fiat Punto a few years ago and it cost £1,500 ($2,500ish) to have new locks & ECU fitted !!! He is far less forgetful now after the rather expensive lesson. He still love's Fiat's too, which I just can't figure out...
