Mercedes Benz is set to debut the GLC Coupe at the upcoming New York Auto Show and before it starts tomorrow, they’ve given us one last peek of it in the form of a sketch.
It was just last year at the 2015 Shanghai Auto Show when we saw the GLC Coupe concept and one year later, the production model is set to be revealed. We’ve already seen most of it uncovered and in January, we saw spy shots of an almost naked GLC Coupe mule.
The sketch looks to have the same signature diamond radiator grille and large air intake vents as the mule. While it’s less practical than its 4 door sibling with less rear passenger headroom and trunk capacity, the GLC Coupe makes up for it in style. Supposedly, the Coupe looks better than the regular GLC with that plunging roofline but that’s based on where your preference lie.
As far as engines go, the U.S. spec GLC Coupe will come with a 2.0-liter turbocharged gas engine with a 241 horsepower and 273 lb-ft of torque output. A plug in petrol-electric hybrid variant will also be available and it combines a 2.0-litre four-cylinder turbo gas engine with an electric motor for a power output of 275hp, similar to that of the GLC 350e Coupe.
An AMG GLC 43 Coupe is also expected and Carscoops thinks it’ll be an AWD sporting a 362hp 3.0-liter V6 bi-turbocharged engine with a 9-speed 9G-TRONIC automatic transmission.
Once the New York Auto Show is underway, we’ll most definitely hear more about the GLC Coupe.
