I got a 2019 GLC 300 4 Matic, assuming that car play was standard and it is not. did anyone face the same issue and were able to get an aftermarket fix? or a dealer fix?

I have the same model and luckily had carplay optioned by previous owner, but on some of the others I looked at without it, the dealer told me they could add it. However, it will be plug-in carplay (not wireless), so aftermarket options might be better depending on your preference there.

I don't think I even asked since I had my mind set on the one that already had it, but I'd call your local MB dealer to find out.
