220d AMG Boot/Tailgate won't stay open

Hi all,
The boot/tailgate on my 220d won't stay open. I can open it with the handle, key an driver's door switch but when it reaches the fully open position it "bings" again and then closes.
Is there any way to reset anything or am I looking at heading to the dealer and a hefty bill?!
Cheers.

Hi AliW,
we are having the same problem with the boot of ours, were you able to fix it easily, any advice please?
It’s going into the dealer on Thu.

Hi, we are having the same issue.. what was the outcome of your visit to the dealer?

Thanks for your help.
Guillaume.
My tailgate was faulty on my 300d. They replaced the struts too

Any guidance on how much this costs to sort? I think this is likely to be the fix to my boot not staying up, but Mercedes want to charge a £170 diagnostic fee then it'll be £80 plus labour to fix if this indeed the case! Hoping there's a cheaper alternative out there
Mercedes fixed it under warranty so not sure what the fee they would normally charge.

Why not price replacement struts and change them yourself, should be cheaper if you car not covered by warranty. If your not upto changing the struts a local mechanic should be able to do the job much cheaper than MB.
Just replace the struts and my issue have been fixed, simple.
