Just a rendering and one thats not likely to recieve much air time from the top brass at Mercedes, but isn't the concept of a three door GLC at least intriguing?

X-Tomi took the standard GLC, cut out the middle bit and glued what remains back together in order to render this short wheelbase, 3 door GLC. While most out there in the autoverse have scoffed at such a preposterous idea, we think it has legs.

What makes a 3 door GLC any more ridiculous then a GLC Coupe? In fact one may even argue that a 3 door GLC is far closer to an actual coupe then the 4 door swoopy GLC coupe. Could they sell three door GLC's to C-class coupe shoppers? CUV's are all the rage right now and not just for families. Make something trendy, badass and fast. They'll come...

It just seems like you would either go for the coupe version if you cared all about style or the 5 door version if you cared more about function. The in between seems like it wouldn't catch much because you'd just go for one of the other two.

I think range rover did okay with the Evoque 3 door, which might speak into some potential for Mercedes with going this direction.

But it's just too micro-niche, the age of coupe-like SUV sort of fills this demand while still staying wide spread.

I also think the Evoque is more stylized than this 3-door GLC. I think they need to go full force into stylized SUV-coupe if they go with a 3-door design. Maybe a more fast back rear would make more sense.
