All season tires replacement

Hi Guys,

Funny story (in UK), so after i learned here that there is an issue with locking the vehicle i have contacted my dealer who replaced the tires to all season. I got Vredestein Quatrack 5 as i mentioned in another post. Before i had Pirelli Scorpions run flat. Looking at the website over a weekend i thought hang on those are not run flat tires. So, i sent email to Vredestein to confirm.

Yesterday I have contacted my dealer asking if that's the case shouldn't i be given tirefit package which should be coming as standard with Mercedes (before they said i don't need it since i have run flat). They called me back saying that the replacement was like for like and those are run flats.

Vredestein replied in the morning confirming those tires are not run flat. Anyone had a similar experience ? Now i can of wish i didn't do anything and stayed with original tires.

I think that sounds like a dealership problem, maybe show them the reply from Vredestein and see if they'll give you a set of run flats.

That's the only replacement tires Mercedes approved. Got a call from customer services today that a dealer will contact me to provide the tirefit kit.
Our GLC was supplied on run flats that were awful over last winter and are still crabbing and clonking in the recent cool wet summer weather. The outer edges of the front tyres are also completely worn, after 12,400 miles, so recently arranged for the dealer to fit the FOC replacement AS tyres.

They were about to fit non-run flat AS tyres but wanted £240 for a compressor and gel kit. I'm not prepared to put anymore money into his car as it will almost certainly be changed quite soon due to the totally unacceptable crabbing and clonking fault. So the dealer is now supplying run flat AS tyres - will update when these are fitted.

Given that the MB compressors are hand assembled on the thighs of 16-year old Filipina virgins and the gel harvested from the sweat glands of unicorns, I find the price quoted to be entirely reasonable. >:)
