AMG Line Mud Flaps

All,

Does anyone know if mud flaps are available for the AMG Line spec. As a delighted owner of a 250D AMG Line with Running Boards I find it incredible that Mercedes do not produce mud flaps for this vehicle:surprise:
Apart from the obvious benefit of protecting the bodywork on your pride and joy I'm a firm believer that mud flaps play a part in safety on the road by reducing or dissipating spray for the car behind in wet weather. HGV vehicles have to have mud flaps by law and I would advocate introducing the same rule for all vehicles - just my opinion.
Anyway to get back to the point if anyone has managed to source any for their AMG Line could they share the info please!

If you can't find them, going universal is always an option. Takes a bit of effort to cut and trim to what's required but worth the time, effort, money.

You might have luck with GLC-specific flaps from aftermarket brands in Europe.
Thanks CRNCYX ! There is a company doing some aftermarket for the AMG model but for some reason they state on their site that they do not fit AMG Line. I might give it a shot anyway!
If they're making it for the AMG model why does it say it doesn't fit the AMG line? I would advise perhaps emailing the company first before having to buy it and realizing it doesn't fit and have to deal with the refund process!

Exactly what I did yesterday Klass and they have been told by "a garage" that the rears will fit an AMG but not an AMG Line. That surprises me as I assumed the body kit on both cars would be the same - perhaps not?
after being told by the dealer when i purchased my car in April that the GLC mud flaps wouldn't fit the AMG line , I've this morning purchased the normal ones having tried them at the parts counter , i have only had the front flaps though .
{I've also got the running boards fitted to the car from new }
Some people I know do without the mud flaps and just make sure to get the paint wrapped and coated with some protector that acts like wax, which is smart if you're not 100% content with the flaps.

Only problem is you have to frequently spray it down, access to coin washes help.
for £40 I've got MB mud flaps took 10 mins to fit I'm well pleased .
Can I resurrect this please?

I've had my GLC 250d AMG-line premium plus for 10 days and expected to be able to fit mudflaps as I tow a caravan. The car came equipped with a factory fitted electric towbar and 13 pin electrics so MB are fully aware that these cars are likely to tow a caravan. I noted before purchase that mudflaps were shown in their accessories brochure and no mention of exclusions.
My own fault for not checking first as both the dealer and a live chat on the MB website confirm they are not available.

I bought a set from direct 4x4, fronts are ok but rears don't fit, the company have been first class and rang me to discuss options and offered 50% refund so I got the rears free and will see what I can do with them, however the email response from MB is a joke.

Thank you for your using our LiveChat service.

The relevant department have informed me that the mud flaps for GLC are not available with the AMG Body Styling and the AMG Exterior Sports Package, both of which feature on your vehicle.

This would be due to the design of the mud flaps and the way in which they are required to be fitted to the car. The AMG body kit would prevent this from being done correctly as it would change the shape of the body.
I've responded asking them to explain in detail "how a correctly shaped mudflap can change the shape of the body" as I find that comment almost an insult. If they don't want to supply or think it spoils the look then fine but should be honest rather than make lame excuses.

I've also sent an email to customer services but based on that I won't hold my breath for a sensible reply.

Is this typical of MB attitude or an exception. A great shame as I love the car.

cheers

I find customer service to get worse and worse the larger a company is so this reply from MB isn't a surprise.

Maybe there's a way to make those direct 4x4 rear flaps fit. Are they too large?

Just had very offhand replies to both my live chat response and complaint to customer services who aren't prepared to offer an explanation. "Sorry we can't help you further" and we confirm that we do not supply mudflaps for this model". I didn't really expect anything else tbh.

The Direct 4x4 rears are too small. Side profile to the bodywork ok but shape under the car leaves a 60mm gap at it's deepest point. I can fit them by making up a bracket from the mudflap hole to corresponding bolt on the car but would have to fabricate something to fill the gap, maybe black abs or thick rubber. I need to give it some consideration as I don't want it to look c**p

Just to continue the mudflaps issue, I ordered some from China, a dealer on ebay and they arrived this morning so 19 days for delivery but an initial trial fit on the car and they will fit perfectly so I'm now a happy chappie. Cost £49 for a set of 4, I can post the link if anyone's interested.

I directly questioned the seller with my specific model and paid via paypal so figured it was worth the risk as I could get it refunded if not right. These are for AMG line with running boards but they do the other variants as well.

Fitted the mudflaps today, perfect fit and only around mins per wheel so dead easy.
Marks on the photos are water as I'd just given the car a quick blast.

I have the same set on mine, they help keep car clean and fit good enough to look like genuine MB ones
After washing my car today, I might invest in some mudflaps.

Hi Bob,

Can you post the link please?

Graham
I got mine from a seller called "mycar_club" if that's any help?

@gb93616 These are probably what you are looking for, Graham. They fit all AMG Line trim models provided you also have running boards fitted. They currently work out at £53.11 as the price on this listing is linked to the Euro.
