I didn’t want to moan to my wife about her new car and I knowI’m being too pedantic, but I wanted to see if others get irritated by the samething as me - I drove my wife’s GLC for the first time in the rain yesterdayand the wipers really annoyed me for 2 reasons.
Firstly, the sweep appears jerky. I guess it’s a result ofthe unusual mechanism on the passenger side, but it seems to make the driverswiper to change speed on the downward sweep. It starts quick, slows and thenspeeds up again. It was more pronounced on slow speed than quick. At least theydon’t judder and jump like I’ve read on here.
Secondly, the passenger side wiper comes too far over, rightinto my line of sight. I found that my eyes would change focus from the road tothe wiper as it stays in the field of vision for longer. After driving for awhile (2+ hours), I started to be able to avoid focusing on the wiper and overtime I probably won’t even notice but it was really winding me up.
Having said that, it was the first time I’d driven the carfor any length of time and distance, and I really do like it. We did about 150 miles, mostly motorway, so I was able to get the seat set up properly, have a lookthrough some of the settings on the driver display (eventually settling on asimple speedo reading as it is easy to glance down at). I was really impressedwith the cars motorway manners, it is very stable, quiet and the gear changesin eco and comfort are silky smooth.
I just need to go and learn how to use the cruise controlsettings properly. A few times I turned it on and it jumped back to theprevious set speed which isn’t great when you’re in road works with an enforced50mph limit…
