Hi folks,
It's new car purchase time and I'm toying between choosing a nearly new glc43 amg coupe or a 2016/17 Porsche Macan gts. I've driven both and preferred the Macan but not by enough to put me off choosing the glc, they are both very good cars. The trouble with the Macan is finding one with a high spec, Porsche are not the most generous with their standard equipment and you'll end up paying for stuff that's pretty much standard kit with other manufacturers.

I'll save around 10K if I go for a glc but I'm concerned about the crabbing issue. I've read the crabbing thread, and my understanding is that I need to choose a 43amg with 21" wheels and ask the dealer to supply 'all weather' tyres - is this correct?

Thanks all.

Welcome Yachtmaster, you are absolutely correct regarding the 21 inch wheels and you get a LOT more for your money with the 43 and it looks a lot better than the Macan in my opinion, good deals available on the 43 by using carwow.
Thanks Philamg,

I did think of using carwow or drive-the-deal to configure a new car but unfortunately I have a part exchange to consider so I guess I'll be buying nearly new instead.
Yachtmaster, doesn't matter about your part exchange, you will get a price off carwow for the new car, I recently priced a 43 and could get 13 % off, you then need to negotiate the price for the part exchange with the dealer. If you are buying on a loan the APR for a new car will be a lot lower than for a used one. You have nothing to lose, give it a try.

Carwow don't sell the car to you it gets you 5 prices from MB dealers.

I could get 18% off a 350d glc from my local dealer using carwow, if I had gone into the dealers 1st I would have been lucky to get 8% off.
Thanks for your help and advice Philamg, I didn't know that. Will do some investigating.
My piece of sh** Macan crabs, so no advantage on that point. As for p/e use webuyanycar, they quote the same prices as dealers, I’ve used a couple of times when time was pressing and it works fine. Dealers just want as much profit as poss, also won’t give them an excuse to argue the price from Carlow.
