It's not just MB, Carplay is pretty chunky in a lot of brands and there's still a long way to go before it's something you use on a daily basis. Though I can't claim to know too much as I'm an android fan.

i think mercedes is really lagging in this area, my 2013 audi A6 was better equiped, easier nav, better graphics.
now this is a car that was launched end of 2015, and the nav is slow, graphics have low res, and no android or CarPlay, UI is clunky.

Mercedes should up their game and come with something better than BMW and Audi.

You can now order GLC with CarPlay. I just did it this week and the delivery date is estimated to the end of November..

Being that far out from now you can always see how your order can be adjusted to have carplay. I personally can't imagine owning a vehicle without tech like that. Already depend heavily on my smartphone so as you can imagine the same would play out with in-car tech like this.

I recently mailed a dealer in Belgium for an update. He replied that it will be possible to install a module, which would be available in August. Price of this module is not yet known.

Mercedes told me that GLCs produced from October 2017 can be ordered with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. I have just ordered a new GLC and I can see in my order spec that Apple CarPlay and Android Auto is included.

The good news is that the Smart Phone Integration package will now be available with CarPlay and Android Auto on the 2018s. But it also said that you couldn't get that package with the Multimedia package which is the Nav. WHAT!? So you can't get Nav AND CarPlay? Is that for real?

So who is the genius at MB that decided you can't have Nav and CarPlay together in a GLC? If you are into technology in your car, you obviously would want both things. Ridiculous. Both the GLA and the GLE have Nav and CarPlay in the same package.

Guess I am back to looking at the Q5 and X3.

I purchased my 2018 GLC 300, and **** it doesn't have the Car play. I realized this after purchasing the car. Spoke to customer care and negative stuck without it forever. I don't understand why they cant make this default with every car. I saw the cost was around $300. Too bad !!

I do have 2016 GLC, and Merc dealer was told that i can add Apple CarPlay on my 2016 GLC, and it will be around $450. ($300 for parts, and $150 for labor cost).
