Can't help with the activator tools but my 2019 GLC came with CarPlay and its very good. The ability to integrate Spotify and Apple Music as well as BBC Sounds and other apps is so much better than having to mess around with the phone itself. While the Mercedes navigation is ok I found the time lag involved in it coming up with a route is quite significant compared with the likes of Google Maps and being able to ask Siri to navigate to a point of interest using Google Maps makes the operation seamless. So overall I would recommend CarPlay.........whether you want to pay for it is up to you.
Apple Carplay
So I've just taken delivery of my new 2020 GLC AMG Line and had a few questions about the Apple Carplay function.

- I've seen you can pay another £300 through the merdeces me store to activate it, but wondered if any of these cheaper activator tools you can buy that plug in to the OBD port would work on my model and the infotainment system I have (incidentally does anyone know how I can identify which system I have, it has a 'MOPF253' in the bottom right corner?)
- Would anyone recommend carplay overall, I havent used the built in navigation yet but it seems fairly decent. Wife and I are both iphone users so assumed it would make sense to get it but seen some reviews say otherwise.
