Brake assist function inoperative

On almost every journey I get a brake assist fault. This puts the car into limp mode and the engine management light comes on. Cameras are all clean. After restart fault clears, very annoying. Unsure whether to spend money sending it to the dealers. Anyone had this fault identified and rectified?

Hi Phil, I have the same issue with my GLC. Please can you let me what was the solution? Thanks in advance
