Comparing the GLC300 vs the Land Rover Discovery Sport. Both carry a 2.0 Turbo 4-cylinder. 9 Speed automatic. Both approximately 240 horsepower, with the GLC providing a hint more torque at 273lb-ft opposed to 360 lb-ft. They're very similar power-plant wise... Very interesting to watch if you're having a difficult time debating between either, or. I'd still personally prefer the GLC, just for a more refined, smooth vehicle. It's also almost a second fast 0-60 than the GLC and... can't really say no to that :)

Great review siding on the GLC.
IMO the GLC is a much better looking vehicle as well.

A very honest and fair review I'd say. Having owned several 'green oval' products over the years I know that the Discovery Sport will breakdown sooner rather than later...

I had a 'toy' Discovery about two years ago which I had for three years (2" lift, big wheels, cage, winch etc). I actually learned to drive in a Series 3 Landrover 109 petrol converted to LPG, talk about gutless ! I was very close to pulling the pin on a Discovery 4 but got the M Class instead, in hindsight a wise move as one of my friends bought one and it has been exceedingly troublesome. When it's not broken it has the most horrific thirst for diesel !

Yeah, he's been really unlucky with it as virtually everything has gone wrong (air suspension (twice), engine, brakes, gearbox, roof leak, door locks, a wheel, steering rack & windscreen wipers) with it. To be fair to our local dealer they've done all they can to keep him on board, even giving him a Range Rover HSE as a courtesy car the last few times. I think the last straw was when he took the kids to Lego Land and woke up to a swimming pool inside the car ! Although the time the air suspension failed on the motorway at 80mph was a close second... He (or his wife) will not have another 'green oval' again and he's been looking at the Merc' GLS for a replacement.
