For all UK owners who may not realise, map updates are NOT automatically performed when your GLC is serviced. You need to specifically request an update when you book a service. I guess this is because the process is somewhat time consuming so the Dealer will only do it if specifically requested. It is also not uncommon for a map update not to 'stick' requiring the whole process to be redone again.
Anyway, I requested an update when Red Ken went in for his annual service. One was available but unfortunately it failed. I was told that by retrying on the same day, the probability of it failing again was very high and that they had achieved a far higher success rate if he was brought back on another day. As they had discovered a failed puddle light, this would require a return trip anyway to rectify.
So today Ken has again got 4 working puddle lights (that was the 3rd one to fail) and the satnav section of COMAND is using map version EUROPE 2018 V.12.0. The map backgrounds are now using more pastel colours which I feel makes your position easier to read.
