My 2017 GLC43 just turned 80K miles and has been a dream - but the fuel door just fell off. I certainly don't abuse this apparatus! Just filled up and pushed it close and it broke. The dealer wants almost $500 to replace it (includes part, labor, and paint). Checking with a local body shop for a competitive estimate. View attachment 3624
No body shop wanted to touch the repair! So I had to go through the dealer - almost $900 to replace a part that cost $80.Hi I am having same issue and its quite frustrating. Did you replace the door, How did you fix?
This just happened to my 2016 GLC 300 too. Dealer says it is not covered under warranty. If it has happened to so many of us, they need to look at the design, materials and the manufacturing process. I had another Mercedes for 15 years and never had this type of issue.Anyone have the issue of the fuel door just snapping off while closing the door after fueling? Happened to me today.
