Anyone have the issue of the fuel door just snapping off while closing the door after fueling? Happened to me today. Dealer says it’s not covered

under warranty. My last car from that dealer. Perhaps my last Mercedes? 26000 miles.

My 2017 GLC43 just turned 80K miles and has been a dream - but the fuel door just fell off. I certainly don't abuse this apparatus! Just filled up and pushed it close and it broke. The dealer wants almost $500 to replace it (includes part, labor, and paint). Checking with a local body shop for a competitive estimate. Helmet Automotive tire Automotive lighting Hood Tire

Just had mine replaced and was given a tidbit of advice from the dealer.....if the fuel door starts to stick when you try to open it, or it takes more than one push to close it, it's an indication of a problem with the part. My new flap has a two year dealer warranty and I will be paying close attention to the function as it never occured to me previously to report a "fussy" fuel door.

This just happened to my 2016 GLC 300 too. Dealer says it is not covered under warranty. If it has happened to so many of us, they need to look at the design, materials and the manufacturing process. I had another Mercedes for 15 years and never had this type of issue.
