Hi folks,
I’ve had a failure on the transmission system of my 250d about three weeks ago whilst driving. The engine was fine, but the power wasn’t reaching the wheels and after I pulled over, the car wouldn’t go into gear. The car was recovered straight to the dealer for fixing. The dealer told me that it’s an electrostatic control plate which failed.

it’s seems that the part is out of stock with no update on when it will be available and it’s already been about three weeks. The dealer tells me they are disappointed with MB as it’s a common fault and they go through lots of these.

Anyone else had this failure? I’m at about 16k miles.

Sorry to hear that Muks, if it was a common fault I would have thought we would have heard about it before,

Thanks Phil, that’s good to know. Looks like another pork pie from the dealer to avoid an awkward discussion. Well....here’s to hoping the part arrives in stock some time soon. At least I know the little red button works :)
