GLC 2016 Petrol smell into the car cabin

Hi dear GLC friends. I have some issue that I have noticed today. When I turn ON GLC 2016 after several minutes of the working smell of the petrol has appeared into the car cabin. This is really strange since on the spot where car was parked there is no mark that patrol is leaking. I have tried it multiple times and always same, smell of the petrol in the cabin appeared specially when I stop my car at the traffic light. I have looked at several sites on the internet and there are suggestions that some of the hoes from the fuel injection system is loosed. Does anybody had same issue? How did you solve this problem at your GLC and what was the reason of this petrol smell into the car cabin. Thanks upfront!

We have the same problem with our MY2016 GLC300. In the morning or after idling, we have a strong odor of gasoline.

I brought it to the dealership but they said they couldn't find anything. But, I don't believe one word from the dealer. They are lying @sswipes. I bought the SUV under the certified pre-owned program which means I paid a premium for it and it's extended warranty. The dealer denied repair (or said that they could not find a problem with) at least 3 things I found wrong with the car so far. I've had several Mercedes in the past and will look at another brand next time.
Thanks Todd for reply!

I had exactly same issue, since yesterday I brought car to mechanics and after several hours of examination I got same reply, everything is fine. But this doesn't have any sense since gasoline odor is still there. It is really strange that this type of luxury car has such kind of problem.

I don't know what else to do maybe to bring it to another mechanic but it seems like it is waste of money.

I have same problem with my 2017 GLC300 4Matic. Car has ~62,000 miles. The problem with the strong odor of raw gasoline/petrol happens when the car is idling. It only started at about 60,000 miles. Car under extended 75K warranty, so will take to dealer, but not hopeful they'll admit there's a problem. Did any of you previous posters get an accurate diagnoses and repair?
Hi yes, I solve it.

The problem is common for GLCs and C class. So the problem can be seen on the YouTube video I will post link at the end. Exactly same thing happened to me like explained on this video. Mechanics didn't diagnose it but I told him please replace both rubber pipes for fuel injection and problem is solved. No more gas smell. I think if you google it you will see that in 2016 C class needed to be withdrawn/repaired for this issue.

I have similar problem and the symptom make sense, while the engine is in idle, the pump work in high pressure but the engine consumption in idle is low, therefore there will be more pressure than the demand. So in idle the fume smell strong, this also verified with the under the floor fuel rubber hose wet. I will be replacing this and I hope the fume disappear
I also have the same problem with my 2017 GLC 250 coupe. I’ll try the hoses as per previous post.

I manage to investigate and see the wet hose (as attached) and after replacement no longer smell in the cabin.

Just the same, the main reason for the smell of gasoline when the car is ignited indicates a problem with the thrust of the fuel injection system. Therefore you need to contact the auto repair shop as soon as possible, so your situation does not worsen. And in general, I will advise you if you feel something is wrong with your car. You should immediately contact specialists because they will immediately say what is wrong with your car and fix what is working wrong. And if you delay checking your car, you can get into a big bill for services. And that's why I use my diesel Mercedes to do DPF cleaning every 4-5 months from this service -- https://www.30minutedpfclean.com/product/mercedes-dpf-cleaning-in-greater-new-jersey/

I'm confused..
So is the problem the rubber hose or a fuel injection issue 🤔??
My. 2016 GLC 300 with 73k miles just started doing this recently.. smell gas in teh cabin during idle sometimes.. What should I expect to pay for replacing these two fuel hoses? does mercedes have a recall or warranty for this? Mercedes should really stand behind their product and cover this free of charge! especially because it's a safety issue since it's a gas leak.. It's a shame there is fuel line leak on a car only a few years old, seem like bad manufacturing or parts..
