I use this for my GLC and Apple Car play, i'm assuming you plug it in the bit where the cigarette lighter would be? i use this cable for mine - https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B07VCSC9KS/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1

I think Apple car play sucks tbh apart from using google maps on a long journey
I bought my 2019 GLC 300 with Infotainment system. Didn't realize that with it, apple car play doesn't work. I could connect my iphone through bluetooth so I can make and receive calls, and play music from my phone, but I can't access my iphone's other features. Perhaps this is the same issue with your Android?

Do you have to pay extra for the infotainment system? also my park assist doesn't work in the UK
As I recalled when I spec'd out what I wanted online, the infotainment system cost more than the apple play package. To get car's navigation software, it required infotainment system.
Park and assist should work regardless of where you use it. I thought that was such a neat feature that it was a must have. Since then, I only used it something like 3 times and that was in the first couple of weeks of driving. I haven't driven it anywhere since where it required me to do parallel parking. You might have to refer to the user manual to see if parking assist have to be turned on for it to work or if it's turned on automatically. You might have to bring it to the dealer and ask them to show you how to use it. I did that when I test drove and bought the car. I also believed that the car has to slow down to something like less than 20 MPH or 30 KPH in order for parking assist to kick in. You'll know when parking assist is on when you see a P lit up with an arrow next to it to let you know parking assist is available.

Honestly, if I could do over, I would not gotten that feature. It's not worth the extra cost unless you really don't know how to parallel park.

In the UK it's standard on a premium i paid £467500 for mine.
Thanks for your responses. It was a case of dirt in the usb socket. After hovering it started working. But I am not happy about the android auto performance in the merc. I use android auto in a VW polo and Waze is fullscreen there and I can also skip songs on Spotify without going into the Spotify screen. In the merc there is no option to do this and Waze does not use the full screen on the display!! Not worth the extra 300£
What did you pay £300 for? I admit Apple car play is rubbish, Mercs AR is pretty good though.
For smartphone integration
