GLC 300 problems

Hi everyone,

I am a first time Mercedes owner. We recently bought a new 2022 GLC 300 with 360 camera. However, after using it for 2 months, we notice some problems. Dealer says normal to most of these problems. I have a doubt about it. I appreciate experienced owners' input here.

1. The sensor often has false alarms, at least several times in a week. Sometimes with even nothing around, the checking entire surroundings screen pops out suddenly and part or all of the car outlined in red.
2. The active brake assist triggered with nothing nearby twice. It beeped twice with a red triangle on dash, followed with a sudden brake itself once when I was reversing. This is very scary.
3. The windshield has haze on it after the wiper blades run when it is raining. It lasts like 2-3 seconds, but when wiper blades runs fast, the haze really decrease the visibility, especially at night. The dealer said this is wax and just cleaned the windshield. It is better but still there.
The wiper blades occasionally has chattering sound, when it is running in the rain. According to the dealer, it is normal and happens to all MB cars.
4. The fuel gauge fluctuates within about 30 miles. Each time I fuel the car to full, but the range available fluctuates between 308 to 340 miles. As I drive, the range might even go up eg. from 304 to 320 miles after driving for several miles.
5. When I wash the car, the doors lock itself even when the smart key is at least 15 meters away from the vehicle. This is also normal according to the advisor at dealer. I understand if the smart key is near the vehicle, it can be triggered by the running water on the handle. But even when the key is that far away?

Thanks in advance!

1. I have had false alarms but only once or twice in 5 months
2. I have not had this
3. Mine is fine but contaminants on a windscreen can be difficult to eradicate, Mercedes seem incapable of making windscreen wipers that run smoothly, I had 2 x Mercedes E Class estates from new and on both the wipers were appalling, my E Class Coupe was fine my current GLC are fairly good but not as good as my wife’s Toyota Aygo where the wipers sweep silently across the scree.
4. The range will alter depending on driving style and from my experience it can take a drive of up to 30 miles to stabilise a read out.
5. Mine does lock if the keys are on my body but it’s fine if they are placed say around 8 feet or so away.

Thank you for the input. Looks like I need to follow up with the dealer for at least 1,2 and 5.
I also have a 2022 GLC300 with 360 surround view camera
no problem like 1 or 2
my fuel gauge works fine and doesn't change up or down like that in 4
No problem like 5. only time I have car relock on it's own is if I unlock but don't open a door
it then relocks after about 15 seconds on it's own.
I added navigation to mine ,after purchase , right from the mercedes me connect store.
works great. Just took an over the air update from them
Also added the distronic pro , adaptive cruise control from RJAutomotive, I like it
They did the programming over the connected computer. Had to change the steering wheel switches
and the radar unit behind the grill star
couldn't get the traffic sign assist as mine doesn't have the dual stereo camera

I guess I just got a lemon. The dealer said they fixed the sensor today, and we will see.

Do you have traffic displaying on your navi? I don’t see any traffic information at all. Do I need a traffic subscription?

Thanks!

I don’t have traffic displaying. You do need to subscribe for that.
2022 GLC300 -

I was not seeing traffic info on the downloaded navi. Called customer support, very helpful.

turns out I had to activate traffic and Car-to-X in the Mercedes me Connect app, under the vehicle status. Scroll down to vehicle services, and navi should show up.

depends on what year - on a 2022, navi comes with traffic. You just need to activate it MANUALLY - something no one tells you, except for the Customer Service rep who I talked to.
