Love the car to bits took delivery Nov 9th 2020 and have reached 2200 miles and have noticed only intermittent jerking and clunking when the auto transmission is down shifting from 3rd to 2nd on approaching a stop, have driven auto for 30 years + and never experienced such sensations, can anyone help please ? Have driven in all modes E C S S+ and the Individual set up and even taken off the assist braking mode to see if this helped but it has happened approx 6 times in 2200 miles .......

Chris, I have a 300d (12 months old now) and I have not experienced any jerking or clunking from the auto transmission. I had a 250d before (MY18) and thought the box was a lot smoother than the 300d but this might be down to mileage - I have only covered 3700 miles in 12 months! The 250d covered 16000 in 18 months and was fully bedded in - if there is such a thing now a days??
I think a trip to the dealer is required - but as I'm sure you are aware with an intermittent fault/issue, they will take it for a test run and find nothing wrong! I had an issue with my drivers door window rattling (intermittently) and it took them three attempts before the door was re-aligned to resolve the issue.
Thanks Ian for your kind reply. In the background I sent an email to the Mercedes UK CEO Gary Savage with the bones of what I experienced, with an aim to try and nip this in bud so to speak and was pleased to receive a call form his PA today stating that a case number had been issued and the dealership in Stoke would be ringing me after the 4th Jan to have the car in and investigate the auto problem. Impressed so far with this process and hopefully now that I have a case number within the Mercedes system I can continue to press for satisfaction. Still love the car to bits and want the dream to continue. All the best and will let you know the result thanks for sending me your views.
