Ok I'm sure I can't be the only person who doesn't know how to do this,

driving along the road using the route maps to go to destination and following route when the navigation comes up we've found an alternative route which will save you 8 mins.....

How the **** do i change to the alternative route?

Thanks for the help

Doesn't happen on mine, just says your route is being recalculated due to traffic conditions and automatically does it.

Same as mine but I usually ignore it :| Often comes up with that message but offers no alternative and just carries on.
The best on mine was when it said I was being re routed and took me off the M3 up the slip road to a roundabout and then back onto the M3 at the same roundabout!.

I am quite happy with the sat nav, compared to Land rovers it is brilliant and in my opinion as good as the BMW system.
if that's a Garmin you need to go to Settings>Traffic and it will be there to choose from, it will show your current route and proposed and you can select it. in the latest version of Garmin it shows a little bubble next to traffic like 1 or 2 etc when there is some route avoidance or traffic present.
my experience is likewise that it will tell you that it is rerouting you due to traffic information and just changes the route for you whether you like it or not. what i don'y like i that it will often take you on a side road which in theory yes probably is faster but by the time you git the traffic lights and whatnot you would have proibably been better of just staying on the highway and sitting in traffic a bit. i wish it were like my $200 Garmin that says we can save you XXXX minutes do you want to change and then i can decide if its worth taking the alternate route
