Should be covered by factory warranty because it's a manufacturer problem and not cause by you. Just bring it in to the dealership for a fix or replacement. Let us know how it goes!
I took my car to get the brake defect fixed - after having been told twice earlier that it is a known defect and that MB will get back to me once fix was available.
Earlier today took the car to the MB dealer in Plano, TX and was rudely told that it is now out of warranty, fix is there but pay for it ??
Called the customer support # to lodge formal complaint and he says there is no one to complain to - he has documented it but there is nothing else I can do about it.
This is ridiculous and infuriating - when I had already told 2 separate MB dealerships about the defect within the 1st year and they kept kicking the can down the road until it was out of warranty.
MB should be ashamed of itself for treating its customers this way and making a fool out of us.
I plan to lodge a formal complaint both with MB and outside forums - better business bureau and others. There has got to be some action taken to get MB treat its customers right and get past this sham of 'excellence in service'!!!!!
They knew it from beginning that its defective brake pads and will not admit to fixing it in warranty.
SHAMEFUL and must NOT BE IGNORED by current/ future customers.
