Did you make sure to test drive a GLC 250 before signing the papers, don't mean to be the bearer of bad news but I heard the GLC 250 feels underpowered. Wanted to go the GLC 250 route but it's that very same information that put me off for now.

What feedback and knowledge are you looking for?

Welcome to the forum!
Welcome from Northumberland !

That's an impressive spec' GLC you have in the pipeline there Chris, the designo white looks amazing in the flesh. The wait is a pain, but it'll be here soon enough. I'm loving my 220d Sport and it's getting better with every mile as it loosens up and settles in. The 250d will be a flying machine as it's the same spec engine as my former M Class which was no slouch and that was a lot heavier. Enjoy it when it arrives and give us a garge full of pictures to look at too.
We were lucky, we test drove a 220 se on air suspension and a 250 amg. Both were particularly quick, but the 250 noticably quicker. If the car was solely for the wife the 220 would have been fine, however i enjoy a more spirited car come the weekends. The air suspension offers a far superior ride than that of the coil sprung amg, but we struggled to justify the additional cost as we don't cover huge mileage annually and hardly ever go near motorways where this particular option would come into its own.
As for the colour choice, i wanted obsidian black with beige leather, but alas no beige options on the amg !! so the wife got her choice of white with black leather. The glc we drove was polar white and although it looked particularly eye-catching, the gle in the showroom in designo white won hands down. lets hope it looks as good in flesh as it does on the configurator.

will post some pictures when it finally arrives
I'm sure you'll be more than happy with your colour choice, they had a GLE coupe standing outside the main door of my Merc' dealer in designo white and it looked stunning. The metallic effect really is impressive, well when we get some sunshine that is...
Hi Chris,
Apart from the night package, your new car is exactly the same spec as my wife's. Its a great colour combination especially in the sun with the metallic paint.
The black trims and sunroof provide a good contrast of colours.
You will be impressed with the Burmester sound system, the best I have heard in any vehicle.
My wife has had hers now for 4 weeks and loving every minute of driving it. She had an ML before getting the GLC, but this car is far superior in safety features and standard equipment. Only thing we miss is the air suspension but as you say does not justify the additional cost. The AMG suspension is firm but more than adequate.
We are based in Middlesex and to date have not seen many GLC vehicles.
Hope you enjoy the new ride.
Cheers Greg:grin2:

That's a good point, I've not seen too many on the roads yet. There is a Tenorite Grey AMG version nearby to us but it doesn't seem to move ? I guess as more orders come in they'll be more populous on the roads.
I agree...i've seen more at the dealers than what i have done on the roads. According to the rep at the dealers, they're only building 8000 units per year globally at the moment. No doubt that will increase with the introduction of the coupe and customer demand. For the time being i guess it'll be nice to be driving something almost unique !

Which will hopefully keep the depreciation down to a minimum:wink2:
Yes, it should do, demand will probably outstrip supply, especially around the three year old mark. Which is nice.
1week to go !!!
Laying in bed trying to sleep must be ****!!!!!!!!!!!!!!>:)
ITS ARRIVED !!

Collected yesterday afternoon and to say I'm pleased would be an underestimate. Well worth the wait.
Will post some photos in "my garage" shortly
