Hello to all.
We have recently taken delivery of our 2017 GLC 250d AMG Line and love it so far except for the COMAND system, which i am having problems getting to grips with, which is the main reason for joining the forum so i can pick your brains.
So thanks in advance,

David.

Welcome Homer, would help if you added your location to your profile as different markets have different specs.

The command system is very easy to use but like all new sat nav systems takes a bit of getting used to.

I read my manual, made notes, then sat in my car in my garage and tried several things so I could see how things worked and see what things look like when you use it. I had a couple things I couldn't understand from the manual so I contacted Customer Service at MB Canada, but the representatives there, despite their claims they knew how things worked, didn't seem to have a clue. I eventually figured things out by myself.

Sorry for delay in reply, we had a Ssangyong Rexton, which was great for towing but decided to change up to GLC. So far very happy.. Have now sorted how to load Personal POI and COMAND,and had all season tyres fitted yesterday.

Heard some good things about that Chinese brand and wouldn't be surprised if in the next 10 years we start hearing about them getting into the North American market, even with how competitive it is already, as long as a certain car maker can understand what consumers want, they can do well enough (ex. Tesla). How did you like build quality of the Ssangyong while you had it?

We liked the Rexton alot, the build quality is very good and good value for money. We would have had the new rexton which was released in UK in October but i have to have a more comfortable ride due to an injury and so had a look at some other marques and liked the GLC. The Rexton uses the Merc 7 speed auto box which we were very happy with. Just a note, Ssangyong is South Korean.

Philamg. We are in Newark UK.

Off for a glass of wine now!

Thanks Homer, can you add it to your location in your profile so we don't forget.

Will be in your area next August, fishing the Trent.

Are you getting to grips with the command system?

I'm getting to grips with COMMAND as well.
One thing I don't really like at the moment is the Radio. I think I need to get to know the presets better, when I go from radio station to radio station with the big blue box display, using the wheel, I don't like the way it plays the station it's on (if that makes sense) as I scrool from one to another - I'd rather have to press the button to select it. Small moan I know, it's just different to my previous car.

Also, I keep getting into a situation where is says "Bluetooth is paused". What the heck is that all about? I thought it just mean sound muted, a couple of times I've had to press play on the phone to get things started, that can't be right.

Oh one last thing, I like traffic announcements, but they come in and such a high volume I nearly crash the car :) Must look into why that happens.

I do love the engine data screen, I have no idea what any of it means (in real terms) but I like watching the needle on the dial go up and down like a big rev counter haha.. Oh and watching the little red spot when in sport + mode, does the wife mad....
