Good evening hope you are all well.
I am due to opt out of my company car scheme and finally due to make a decision. Having tested numerous cars it's down to the final 2.

I have tested
Audi q5
Tesla model s
Jaguar f pace
Volvo xc90
Bmw x5
Volvo xc60

It's now down to the glc and the range rover evoque. I did have my eyes on the new range rover velar but the cost for a decent one is out of my budget.

I am teat driving a 250d amg premium plus on Wednesday and that's what I a looking to do a deal on. I do 20,000 miles a year with work so like the comfort of the glc in the showroom. The infotainment is a little bit of a disappointment but on my carwow build there is the option of apple carplay but on the Mb configurator it isn't there, I know there is lots of talk of it but wondered if anyone knew if it was available in the UK yet?

Also I have read about the crabbing issue, will this be solved on a new build or will it be something to live with?

Sorry for the long message and hi.

Interesting list. You test driving different classes of vehicles. There is no car play confirmed yet, although some rumours say it is available in October production.

Didn't experience crabbing issue myself yet but I love the car. I would definitely say that Mercedes is most expensive if I didn't have a dream to own a Mercedes I would probably would have taken Q5 at the moment since it's the newest of all. Or X3.
I have driven Audis for around 12 years and enjoyed the q5 but it was a bit boring and the same as my current a4 so put me off.

It has been quite a list with cars from very different sectors indeed. I enjoyed the tesla but the company electric vehicle policy and lack of ability to claim mileage put pay to that.

Evoque and glc are cheapest on list and sadly the sensible head has to take priority and the glc certainly isn't a poverty spec.
Hi guys. I have had it confirmed by the dealer that apple car play is now available to order in the UK on the glc.
Well that's me ordered.
250d amg premium plus in grey with
20" alloys
Carbon fibre trim
Leather covered dash
Apple car play
360 degree camera
Running boards
Heads up display

Got a great deal if I take by the end of September.
I don't think there is a chance it will be built by then.

Loaded! Congrats!
Welcome to the forums! What's the ETA on build date?
Well the dealer has said September and gave me a good deal if I would take it on the last day in September. I don't actually need the car till early December and think October would be more realistic on when I should see it.
So at this point, the delay would actually work out better for you if it comes in later on. That's always a good thing haha! It's just the anxiety that'll make it all bittersweet.

Hi, I gathered from my MB dealer that car play is only a viable if you choose the Garmin sat navy option to any spec with comand will not be compatible. Please don't shoot the messenger. I'm new here, and desperately waiting on an allocation and build date.

You are quite correct. When my order went in the dealer rang to say that the premium plus pack meant that I couldn't order car play. It's a real pain as Spotify/tune in integration will be poor without it but the Garmin sat nab I had on the test car I had was really poor so I have stuck with premium plus.
Well it has arrived at the dealers. I am picking up on Thursday. Looks great and the interior looks great. Picking up two months early but can't leave it sat at the dealers.
It's going to be a weekend car until my company car goes back.

I am pleased for you that you have your GLC, I hope you enjoy it. I'm bloody puzzled though. Mine was due for delivery on 8th and I was to collect on 10th. On the 9th I got a call saying it's been delayed (yes, the 9th). Initially the dealer decried any responsibility for the delay, referenced the contract etc but after several days of battle they've put me in a loan car. I'm puzzled because they told me(over the course of many conversations) that:

- they only found out the day before
- the whole production line has stopped.
- That whilst end of October is the predicted new date, there is no confirmation of that date.
- they can't add any freebie options since the car is built, just stuck on the line

I can't understand what I am being told if your car got delivered a week later.

Anyone have any ideas how to reconcile this info?

Thanks
Phone MB customer services to see what they say.
Got the car this morning and it's a dream. 250d amg line premium plus with 360 camera, heads up display, running boards, leather dash, carbon fibre inside. Just saying the spec as it's pretty extensive so can't see how they would have one lying around with my exact spec. I order end of July and was in no mad rush but apparently they had it early September.
Not sure if it helps any but seems a bit strange from yours really.
You're not the only one, my 43 was supposed to be ready on the 15th but no car and no date either , I was told its on a rolling hold whatever that might mean . Rather miffed as I had to get an MOT on my trade in and guess what it failed! Needed new brake pipes so I'm £300 worse off , not happy!
I ordered a GLC 350d AMG Line with Airmatic in July and I'm expecting it to arrive any day soon. Mind you I won't hold my breath, I'll speak to the dealer tomorrow. Production date was meant to be 24th August, but was delayed for a week. I was told a week ago the car was "on the way to German Port"....

IMHO Mercedes need to get online tracking in place. I know why they don't do it, as we'd then have all the info and dealers wouldn't be able to BS their way out of it. Maybe MB need to look after their customers more than they do their dealers....

Last car was an Audi (factory built) but had no extras as such so it was pretty quick and on time. I assume the more you add on the more time it takes?
