The Mercedes Navigation is awful in my experience. It will take you on the worst possible way to get to your destination. I use an app that allows me to send trips to my car via bluetooth. It uses Google Maps which I think is the best platform over apply maps or something else. I would go for the apple play if I had the option. Can't help you on the SD card cost....I bought one from Audi some years ago and it was 1500 Euro. I doubt Mercedes will be cheap or offer a great deal on the card. Hope this helps.
Is the navigation SD card worth it? Anybody use over Apple Car Play
I just got a 2018 300. It comes with Car Play and navigation. I was disappointed to find out that I have to purchase a SD card for the navigation. (I usually drive older cars). Anyways, the dealer is just trying to convince me to use apple car play and not to waste my money on an SD card for navigation.
Anyone here use the navigation over the apple car play?
Is the SD card worth it?
What are the benifits of the navigation over the apple car play if there are any?
Is there a guesstimate of how much an SD card for navigation costs? Nobody wants to answer this question. Haha

Thanks for the information. You’re making me feel good about not buying the SD card.
I even tried the GPS in town today.....drove me all over the damn city and ended up just using google maps....was there in 10 minutes......Don't do it....it will always be there if you want it but doubt you will ever miss it.
