Hi all,

Has anyone noticed a somewhat noticeable "clonk" during start, which in my opinion, comes from the right rear exhaust area?

I took the car back to the dealer, they even kept it for a night, but no luck replicating the noise there.
It's a one time clonk during start, and generally happens when the vehicle has been parked overnight, and cooled.

Feedback would be appreciated.

(my next step is to video a few start ups to see if we catch it)

Hi,
It's not something I've experienced. That's the problem with intermittent issues they never seem to happen when it's at the dealership! Good idea trying to video it, at least the dealer can hear it happening..
Don't know what could "clonk" at the back, unless exhaust is wobbly, or a brake sticking and releasing?

What kind of dealership is it, if they can't even tell you what's the problem...

Did you consider taking it to another shop?

I get it too (GLC 300). Like yours, it's the most pronounced when the engine is cool or cold.

While it does sound like it's coming from the right rear, I think it's actually coming from the engine bay.
