Good morning folks,
Just found this forum, so I thought I would pop on and introduce myself, I currently have my first Mercedes a GLC 250d AMG Premium, I swapped from a Porsche Macan, I always said I would never have a Mercedes as I was treated badly by my local dealership several years ago when looking to change my XF, anyway whilst waiting for my Macan I hired a C class and was really impressed, so when I needed to move the Macan to finance a project I looked at the GLC and was impressed not only with the car but the dealership, so I took delivery in Feb 16 and so far the best thing I can say is that I have not missed the Macan, I absolutely love the GLC , I haven't seen that many GLC,s on the road since Feb but I am sure that will change as deliveries come through.

Regards

Welcome Spud!
Great another GLC driver from the UK.
Not many about?
Any photos of your GLC and what's the full spec and options?
Cheers Greg

Hi Grego, my spec was fairly standard as I need the car quickly, got it in 3 days, but it was fairly close to what I wanted anyway, I went for 250d AMG Line, Premium Pack, Metallic Ombudsman Black, Running Boards, 360 degree Camera, I have to say that the running boards imo really finish the vehicle off nicely

Looks like you have a great spec car. The 250d is a good engine and for a 2.1 litre has great power and acceleration for a relatively big vehicle.
Enjoy Greg

Thanks, yes I am really pleased with it, as Greg says the 250d is a really good engine, my previous Diesels had been the Xfs which were 3L V6 plus my Macan was a 3L Petrol, lovely car, so I was slightly concerned about "dropping" down to a 4 Cylinder Diesel from V6 engines, but totally unfounded as the performance has been excellent and not found lacking imo, plus the economy of 50mpg which I have achieved on a few long journeys is excellent. The wife actually enjoys driving it more than the Macan as she feels it is more "useable"

I currently have the Jag XFS which has such a great engine, silky smooth and quick off the mark. Be interesting to see how the GLC AMG63 will preform against the likes of the Jag F Pace S and Macan S?:surprise:

Have to say Greg if the AMG63 Drives as good as the Porsche it will be some car, the Macan is a tremendous vehicle, hope you are enjoying the XFS I previously had 3 of them and really enjoyed every mile, like you say very refined, Ive posted a couple of photos of my Macan plus my last XFS in the "Garage section"

Thanks Spud - love the Macan!
Just uploaded onto Garage my Jag XFS.
Looking at changing it in 6 months time to a large 4x4 as well?
Considering either a MB GLE 350 coupe, Porsche Cayenne, or a BMW X5 40d??????????????????????????
Cheers Greg

Lovely XFS Greg, I loved my Jags but wanted a change of Direction and had always wanted a Porsche, was not disappointed but situations and priorities change hence the Macan had to go, the Cayenne is a fabulous car and I had one for a couple of days, the Diesel, it drove lovely, I had a look at the F Pace the other day and have to say I was impressed its larger than I originally thought but one I will consider in the future

I'm loving the pictures of both Jag's in the garage, very tidy fellers. I've not had a proper 'car' in years, I've forgotten what they're like ! For the past 17 years I've been exclusively in 4x4's of some denomination of the other. The GLC is my smallest vehicle (excluding the bike) I've had for ages and I'm loving it, especially the excellent MPG.

I know what you mean!
I must say I do enjoy driving my wife's GLC and hence the reason why I' contemplating buying a 4x4 for myself later in the year.
But I would be sad to see the Jag go:frown2:
