Hi!

I purchased my 1st ever MB on Saturday. A 2017 GLC 43 AMG Coupe. The dealership has a stop sale order due to the recall for the grounding issue with the airbags, so I cannot take delivery of it yet. I hope MB comes up with a fix ASAP, I'm ready to get my car!!!

Congrats, I took mine this past Sunday, 1st MB also smells so good, 2018 GLC AMG43 Coupe
Good to hear maldoman, it really is a great car.
My car has turned up at last , it arrived at the dealer yesterday evening as a total surprise to them so I'm to pick it up this Saturday morning , not much time to move the money around . I think i'm still a bit stunned after such a long wait I can't quite believe it.

Great news Andrew, let us know how you get on (you will have to change your signature).

Only 2 more sleeps and your 6 month wait will finally be over! Red Ken took 7 months to get to me but admittedly a large chunk of that was waiting for Mercedes to decide to put Hyacinth Red back in their paint robots so I could secure a production slot. You've chosen the fastest colour, I'm reliably informed a red 43 will give a grey 63 a run for its money ;) Looking forward to reading about your first impressions (you may want to start collecting superlatives in readiness). Also let us know which tyres have been fitted since some new owners are reporting their cars are now arriving with all-season tyres.

That's fantastic news!

I'm still getting used to mine but will post some initial thoughts soon. I'll be interested to hear what tyres you have on the front too.
Draven, what speed rating are your tyres?.

The only GLC43's with all weathers are the ones with 21 inch wheels as far as I am aware.

Hi Phil.

Tyres are Y rated.
Hi Phil.

Tyres are Y rated.
Thanks Draven, same as my summer tyres, wish they could get them in 19 inch all weather.
I collected my 43 today , awesome machine even in eco it goes like a train! The tyres fitted are Michellin Latitude Sport3 Y rated but I've no idea if they're all season but no sign of any skipping hopping or jumping on full lock so far. I'll post some pictures when the sun shines because the hyacinth red looks beautiful with a bit of sun on it. I find the stop start very annoying and there doesn't seem to be any way to turn it off permanently , every time you change mode it turns itself back on .
I'll post more when I have more time .

Congratulations Andrew, if the wheels are 19 inch they are the same tyres as mine - summer. Only skips on full lock and depends on road surface and temperature, if it happens you will know about it as you feel it through the steering wheel.

Yes no way to permanently turn off stop/start except use individual mode and select it as off, if you restart car within 4 hours stays off but comes back on after that. You soon learn to turn it off as soon as the engine is started and there is a warning on the instrument panel to remind you it is on.

Looking forward to the photos and your report - enjoy.
Congrats Andrew, great they are all coming through now :)

I had a 43 vs 350d argument in my head the whole time I was waiting for mine. After having it 2 weeks, I'm really impressed with the 3 litre diesel..
I've not really experienced the judder / clonking thing in anger (yet). I know how I can make it happen though. If I come out of a parking space I've backed into and pull out on full lock, going faster than I'm comfortable with, it does sort of skip forward. But I'm taking it relatively easy and, where I can, avoiding completely full lock. I've never really liked going full lock, the amount the wheels turn on some cars, like the GLC, just seems unnatural to me! In 2002 I had a C Class and that was the same..

I don't mind the stop start thing, my Audi had it so I'm used to it AND it's a very good stop / start, starts immediately and as the engine is so flipping quiet, I hardly notice the difference....

I love that red, so look forward to the pictures in May when the sun next shines again haha

Thanks for all your good wishes , I'm still trying to figure out how everything works but it's great fun to drive more like a gocart than a SUV . I took a couple of pictures but I'm not much of a photographer.

Regards Andrew
