Hi Guys

Just bought an ex demo 67 plate GLC 250d AMG-line in obsidian black. Well equipped with premium plus, night pack, 20" bi-colour wheels, all round cameras / parking pack, intelligent lights, running boards, electric towbar etc.

Only had it 10 days but very pleased so far, with the exception that there are apparently no rear mudflaps available to fit. This is a problem as I tow a caravan and don't fancy damaging that with stone chippings, neither do I like the idea of botching something up on an expensive motor.

My previous cars have been 3 BMWs followed by 3 Audis the last 2 being quatros so this is my first Mercedes and first SUV and just getting used to the different handling characteristics.

Hopefully I can contribute to the forum in due course though initially it's more likely to be questions.
cheers
Bob

Hi Lons and welcome to the forum. Your car looks totally boss and would be the vehicle of choice for any purveyor of the finest recreational pharmaceuticals >:)

If you don't mind fitting self-tapping screws into the plastic trim around your wheel arches you could buy a 4-mudflap aftermarket kit for £45. They don't fit the 43 (there's another version specifically for those) but it would be worth asking the supplier if these are OK for your AMG Line trim.

Mercedes GLC mudflap set.
Look very cool Bob. Smooth move getting an ex-demo, the amount of time some of us had to wait for factory built ones..moan...moan..moan...
I couldn't get air suspension out of my head and not many demos had it, actually non I couldn't find to even test let alone buy...
Welcome Lons, sure you will enjoy the GLC.

Can you please fill in your location on your profile so we know which market you are in, different markets have different options.
* Location now entered.

* Ex demo mainly because I could save £8k on a 5 week old car.

* Mudflaps. I actually bought those from that company. Fronts will fit, rears will not and they were excellent and quickly offered me a 50% refund so I got the rears free and will look at whether I can doctor them if I can't find others.

I don't think I'm supposed to clog up the welcome forum but I got what I feel is a silly reply from MB following a live chat so will put that in a different thread, if I can find one.
Feel free to start a new topic Lons, thanks for adding location, good to know where members are.

Most dealers are aware that the mudflaps don't fit the AMG line.
One good alternative to having mud flaps is wrapping your car in clear film as that will make clean up that much easier and in addition save your paint from things that mud flaps can't stop. Its just about the best insurance you can have on paint. Yeah you'll get mud but washing it off will be easy.

A second reason for the mudflaps is that we have an expensive new touring caravan and lack of rear flaps risks stone chips damaging the caravan paint.
Hmmm, I tow a caravan and I must admit I hadn't thought of the stone chip thing. Time for me to rethink mud flaps, they look good as well...

I've had an email conversation with a dealer on ebay who supplies for the AMG line and it looks as if they should fit. I've taken a risk and ordered but they're from China so will have to wait 2 or 3 weeks so fingers crossed.

Paid paypal and I've saved the messages so if they don't fit I'll be asking for a refund.
Will post on here when they arrive
