Hello all Newbie from UK here

Just ordered GLC 250 Sport in Cavanite blue with light interior, premium plus and 360 camera for delivery mid late September.

I have a small window to change the configuration and would appreciate feedback on the following

1. Cavanite v Brilliant Blue. I am thinking of changing the order to Brilliant Blue but as yet have not seen the colour on a GLC (or any Merc) in the flesh. Is this a good colour combined with light interior? I have seen internet pictures of the Brilliant blue and it looks great but not sure how good a representation. Trying to locate a dealer with a BB car in stock. Here in the UK it does get a little dull at times (most of the time) and I think the Brilliant blue may just be a better option, Thoughts please!

2. I opted for the Piano black interior instead of the Black ash but have read that the piano black scratches easily. Would it be better to revert to the Black ash for long term wear and tear? I think the infotainment/ nav controls are still in piano black?

3. I only do about 6000 miles a year including just a small amount of motorway driving ( am retired so its comfort over performance)
Would you recommend the Air suspension or confirm my current thinking this is probably a costly unrequired option for me (no off roading likely)

4. Are there any other " you really should include this on your order or you will regret later" items that anyone would recommend ? (I only have a window of a couple of days to amend order)

Many thanks

i have Cavansite Blue with a light interior on mine. i have some photos in my garage of it. its a rich dark blue that in certain lights will look dark purpley as well. i like it colour, but then most here are grey/sliver and black, so it is unique.

yes, the controls are black even with a non-black wood

air suspension is great in all type of driving, it makes the ride way more comfortable. it also allows you to raise the height of the car if you like sitting higher up. it probably isn't needed, but if you want a smooth ride, with the option to firm it up through the different driving modes then that's nice. you can also make a custom mode and change the suspension height/firmness and leave everything else in comfort. up to you. the suspension also has another, not very talked about feature. if the car is off and you open the trunk, there is a button to push that will lower the rear axle 2-3/3-4 inches, (not sure the exact amount, but it is noticeable), so that loading heavy things/anything is easier. it does make a fair amount of difference i have noticed when i have actually used it.

LED Lighting!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! i would try for a heated steering wheel, i couldn't on my light interior sadly, but would have loved to have it. if you could get some items from the intelligent drive package such as blind spot assist then i would go for that, if you don't need it all that is. (im not sure if you can order certain items or not, here it is only 1 package).

Cavansite in your pics is nice. Just need to see Brilliant Blue to compare now.

Mmm Air suspension -not sure I can justify £1500 additional cost and the LED High performance lights comes as standard (Not the Adaptive highbeam/led intelligent which is another £545) I try not to do too much night time driving. Again blind spot monitoring £500 plus

Need to ensure I don't bankrupt myself and get carried away with options-so tempting! I cant see heated steering wheel is an option in UK
Thanks again

lucky, LED here was optional. we don't even get the adaptive high-beam as an option due to stupid regulations that make them illegal. 500 for only blind spot monitoring? that seems expensive. i would have thought it would be 200-250 at most. to bad about the heated steering wheel, they are awesome but were only available in Canada on the black interior.

cant think of anything else that would be "must-haves." other options are just nice to have like a head-up display. a cool option and amazing to have, but not a "must-have."

Decided on the Brilliant Blue having seen another Merc in this colour and after much pondering decided against the Air suspension additional spend.
I hope to keep this vehicle for a few years and I travel to the other side of the world quite frequently. I have read that the Air suspension likes to be used daily and quite often I can be away for several weeks at a time so guess that would not be too good in the long run. Also having spoken to a couple of UK dealers they say (I hope its true) that they sell about 1 in 50 GLC's with Air suspension and nobody has yet come back to say they regret not having purchased (perhaps I'll be the first with buyers remorse!) We'll see.

Hello fellow Canuck.

I think I noticed a ventilated drivers seat on one of your pics. Is this an option in Canada? I didn't even think this was available in our market!? What do I have to check off to get that ventilated seat, even if it is only on the drivers side?

Thank you.

Hello!

yes, it is an option in Canada. both front seats are ventilated. this isn't said anywhere but if you ask your salesmen he will tell you it is. only downside to ventilated seats is that you MUST get the [premium seat package] and then on-top of that get the ventilated seats. so it become expensive.

if you take a look at this thread,
My GLC300
you need to order [MXP] and [401]

That is great news! I swear I've been through the MB configurator a dozen times and never noticed that. I thought I was relegated to sweaty backside all summer long...

Thanks again. I will definitely talk to my salesperson.
