No Advanced Parking Assist Package

7080 Views 4 Replies 3 Participants Last post by  Lucy3
I just purchased a GLC 300 and did not understand what was included in the advanced parking assist package, so I didn't get it. Now, I have no sensors to gage how close I am to the wall when I pull into my garage and I have to get out of the car to look because it's a tight fit. There are apparently sensors on the front of the vehicle used for other features but not parking. Does anyone else have this problem and if so, are there any options for aftermarket sensors that do not interfere with the other sensors? Appreciate any help.

Hi Lucy Simple solution for your garage is to take a champagne cork or cava attach some fishing line with a drawing pin ( thumb tack) and dangle it from the ceiling so it just touches your windscreen when you are in the correct position , I've been using this solution for both cars for years , works a treat !

Thanks Andrew; I'd also like a solution for when I'm pulling into a public parking garage as well. Was hoping there was an after market solution for the parking sensors.
Don't think there's any easy aftermarket system because the sensors will need to be hooked up to the infotainment system, not sure if you'll have to change that out as well for compatibility.

I found a place in VA that has put sensors on GLCs with success (beep and display). I'm going to go and see what that's been done and then make a decision from there. Thanks for the response.
