Poorly GLC

Well 11 month into ownership and my GLC250 has broken down.

Was driving home on Saturday and luckily was only 2miles from home when the dreaded engine management light and message flashed up on the dashboard and the car dropped into limp home mode so I carefully eased off and brought her home.

Called MB assist and someone was with me within 20mins to diagnose a fault on the accelerator pedal and 10min later back up and running. Took it with the technician for a 10min blast and all was ok, or so I thought.

Out with friends on Saturday night and it did it again exactly as it had done earlier in the day. Managed to reset the vehicle as I was shown earlier in the day and carried on. Called MB assist again yesterday and they have taken it away to be repaired so no car and currently awaiting a MB hire car.

Not overly happy that my car has died but cannot fault the customer service so far.

All fixed and up and running within 48hrs. Great service by MB assist and my local MB dealer who not only fixed the car but also did the first service whilst she was in to save me coming back next week when it was booked in for it.

The problem was a sensor on the accelerator pedal which had failed which wouldn't allow the engine to rev properly. All seems to be working fine now but I have noticed that the fuel consumption has dropped slightly since the breakdown / service. I was averaging around 44mpg prior to the breakdown but now its only returning around 38mpg, which is around 13% difference.

Has anyone else had this issue?
Glad you got it fixed.

How much did your first service cost please
My service was free as I have a service plan which costs about £35/month. They even filled up the AD blue FOC too which I wasn't expecting as its a consumable item.

Not sure of MB'S position regarding ad blue but Land rover provide ALL top ups free of charge if you have the service plan not just at service time.
Land Rover do anytime ad blue top ups if you have a service plan. I had this with our Evoque.
I’ve just booked an A service at Leeds MB and they have price matched German Autocare at £247 as opposed to £360 and it includes ad blue.
