2016 GLC 250d - 46k miles - second set of Pads

I’m getting the Check Brake Pad warning message, so looking to change them myself. Need some advice and guidance on the following questions to point me in the right direction.

How to deactivate the Electronic Automatic Handbrake - allowing the Pads to be removed

Is there a Service Mode for this?

If not - what is the best way to approach this job?

Also, the Warning message doesn’t specify if it Front or Rear Pads - is there an option to check this?

Any advice would be greatly appreciated

I recommend having ceramic pads installed by a German auto repair shop. You’ll save yourself time, money (instead of the M-B dealership) and headaches. I paid a little over $300 for front and rear pads. 2017 GLC-43 AMG.
