Is it due to Live Traffic diverting off to avoid slow/stationary traffic?

Satnav issue
I have a my 21 glc and the satnav has a habit of diverting me off major roads then straight back onto the same road again for no apparent reason? Usually happens on duel carriageways or motorways. Any ideas why? It's set on quickest route.

That's what Initially thought buy in the last 2 occasions I could see the road I should be on and all was flowing well.. you logic makes sense. Maybe the timing of the all clear is slow.. thanks
