Hi all, I've recently bought a GLC coupe (66 plate) and have noticed it makes a noise when I full lock either direction. Spoke to the dealer who I got it from and they said it's a fault with all GLC's is that really the case?

It’s a major fault with Right-hand drive pre-2019 GLC’s + all C43 / C63 - even New

See >UK - GLC 250d Wheel Judder
Search this Forum > Crabbing
Google > GLC Crabbing

Lots of stress for owners - me included - that went on for over 3 years before MB accepted the fault. You will read that MB redesigned the steering geometry and supplied New Knuckles under warranty ( fix not available for C43 / C63 AMG models )

Awful fault on an otherwise good car

Good luck 👍

Thanks so much, that makes me feel a little bit better but will MB repair mine being a 66 plate? Or will I have to get it done myself?
Thanks in advance 😊

I’d be surprised if MB fix it FOC

Such a shame the original owner didn’t get it fixed under warranty. It was amazing how many owners were in total denial, believing it couldn’t be a fault - because it’s a Mercedes and the Dealers were trained to bluff-it-out and call it a Characteristic of the GLC - Shocking

MB should have been forced to Recall all affected cars - it doesn’t happen on Left-hand drive GLC’s

You will also find unmodified GLC’s suffer from excessive and unacceptable front tyre wear.

I feel for New C43 / C63 AMG owners as the Crabbing still hasn’t been fixed, even after 7+ years from the launch - Sad

😳 Oh sugar, wasn't expecting that much, I might have to get used to doing 6 point turns 😂
what gets me is the car didn't do it on the test drive 🤨
I really like the car so I'll just have to get used to it and turn the music up 😂
One last thing actually, when the engine is cold, the car makes a windy noise coming from the passenger rear side, any ideas?
I hope I ain't bought a dud ☹

The Crabbing is most noticeable of cold days - Global warming will help 🤞😂

Can’t help with the noise

The other common issue is Battery Warning messages - the Auto Start / Stop Capacitor battery fails. I found this a Positive, as the functionality is pretty clunky on diesels. I ignored the message for 4 years
