Thanks for advice. Yesterday and today i drove around and tried several times the short right turn, still ok no crabbing! Finger crossed. Will change the tyre next year when the time comes so far happy with the outcome.

Like you guys I had my tyres replaced and knuckles done to sort crabbing. Car has been great ever since, now coming to replace the Vredestein Quatrac 5 tytres on the front and they don't seem to be available in the UK anymore. Now paranoid that what I replace them with might bring crabbing back! Anyone any experience of the later Vredestein tyres (call me strange but I prefer the same manufacturer tyres on all 4 corners) the Quatrac Pro seems to be the replacement? BTW have a call in with my local dealer to get advice too.

Well folks- emailed me back and no joy with MB providing me with a set of all seasons tyres under warranty to fix this (having replaced the knuckles Nov 19- which they said would fix it). Just had the standard ‘change in rubber elasticity at cold temperatures’, ‘to improve the characteristic change the tyres’ and it’s a ‘comfort issue’ response back and if I’m unhappy to engage with The Motor Ombudsman. I’ve never had to buy additional tyres before for any of my other vehicles- even those with same size wheels!! Anyone had any joy with this line of pursuit?

Just bought a two year old GLC63s 7000 miles from a main MB dealer having had an E63s and numerous other MB’s. i found out very quickly (shame it wasn’t on the test drive) that it has the awful skipping at low speeds. MB have it today and said no fault found and suggested all weather tyres. I have replied said you are joking and not a chance as I have only had the car a week. It really bad not sure if the front knuckle strut will fix it but I am prepared for a battle. Gutted as it’s a lovely car but surely MB can’t expect customers to put up with this, it sounds awful and like is damaging something, it’s embarrassing, plus god know what it’s doing to the tyres and suspension when it’s skipping. I would say Help but not sure anyone can.

Afraid you are out of luck - No Fix available for the AMG C43 & C63 GLC’s

The replacement Knuckles were available for non-AMG models - these changed the steering geometry + softer All Season tyres helped mask the Juddering. But it’s still there and becomes more prominent with tyre wear.

Other issues to be aware - the faulty steering geometry on C43 & C63’s results in huge tyre wear. Expect less than 6k miles + Juddering just gets worse with tyre wear.

Cars with 36k+ miles are failing MOT’s due to worn steering components - presumably down to the excessive Juddering and Clonking?

Fabulous cars - apart from this awful & embarrassing Fault - all good in the summer

Be interesting to hear what your Dealer says

Good luck
