2018 GLC 43....well I hate the steering knuckle issue personally.

When accelerating hard it stumbles when going into third gear....maybe needs to be remapped....my Mercedes dealer is horrible so probably just live with it.

I hate the indicator for the rear seating to put on their seat belts. I almost never have a rear passenger so not sure why this function exists.

Got my GLC250D a few days ago. Australia. Already had a 1000km road trip on highways and lower grade country roads. Got to test it out quite well.

Likes:
i. Quiet
ii. Handles well
iii. Sufficiently decent performance, overtaking was a breeze.
iv. Love the ability to quickly switch driving modes.

Dislikes:
i. Radio button turns the radio on but not off. What kind of idiot programs it that way?
ii. No right foot rest. I have one in my Golf and it's the best place to rest my foot when in cruise control mode.
iii. The navigation system is always behind my actual location and instructions are too late to act upon.
iv. Making calls is too complicated / too many tasks to perform just to call a regularly dialled number.

Minor stuff - I find the location of the indicator stalk a bit too high. And being rural with a new and black car I'll have to wash it a lot more often!

This I find rather curious as well, why does it stay on for so long? Makes no sense if there is a) no one in the seat and b) if there is they are already buckled up.

Seat belt warning also stays on in GLE.

what's up with you navigation....ours is actually very good. Better than the **** 2020 Volvo we had. Now that was bad
The position on the mapping is delayed too much and is somewhat behind my actual location, meaning navigation prompts come too late. It'll tell me it's 100-200m to the turn when I am already passing the turn. I don't get this with a cheap Garmin GPS or with my phone navigation apps.

I've recently picked up a 2020 GLC 300D Coupe, Fortunately I don't think it has the crabbing issue nor some of the peeves from other posts (it's still early days but fingers crossed!). Gear box is smooth, auto driving functions are amazing. Economy also impressive
Only issue so far is with the LED headlights. when driving at night I get flashed at least once a minute from cars coming in other direction as they think I have my full beams on. I spend most of the time flashing back.

Do the lights need some angle adjustment? Even low beam can be a little high depending on the car's set up.

Looks like kerb/speed bump/pothole damage, always an issue with low profile tyres 😞
Yep. $600 tyre. Gulp. At least rim is OK.

But no way I hit anything that hard. I think this might have been prior damage that showed up after a more minor bump.

You may add a contact to your favourites by holding the favourite button and then it's much easier.
Thanks

I have to get my head around this. Whenever I hit the favourites button all I get is a list of app options to choose from, which isn't much different to just selecting the main menu.

The flat-bottomed, perforated-leather steering wheel of AMG-line is not available with “heat” feature. To get a heated steering wheel, the wheel has to revert to non-sport round one. Yet, the full AMG models have heated, flat-bottomed wheels. So it is not a technological issue due to shape. Is MB simply too cheap or too rigid to manufacture a heated version of the flat-bottomed sport wheel?

“Individual” driving mode has to be confirmed each time the car starts. Very annoying. All individualized modes (seats, steering feel, drive mode) should be a one-button process. And default should be the last one when the car was turned off.

I read and remembered my story when I had had a Volvo. Selecting a Driving Mode modifies the vehicle's ride quality, which enhances driving pleasure and makes it easier to drive in special conditions. But I couldn't handle the features as I always had to disable them. And when there was a problem with the seat belts, I just bought a piece that fits into the lock. I was advised at the car service when I wanted to use the naples window tint service, they said cars were, in principle, capricious. Then I switched to Toyota and this car was quite outdated for me.

This is my first Mercedes and after nearly 3 years of ownership there's a few things that stick with me.

Likes
Ride/comfort
Seat adjustment - especially extending thigh support. Memory seats.
Generally a well finished car.
Gearbox
360 camera
Voice integration - very good 90% of the time.

Take it or Leave it
Traffic sign recognition

Dislikes
Running boards. Yes, I know, they're a marmite thing, but I'd rather be without.
Comand interface - Truly awful. How many buttons to change station on the radio? Really? Being RHD and me right handed, the touch pat is of limited use.
Small fuel tank.
Fuel economy (but that may be me :))
Crabbing.

A bit disappointed that parking sensors and wiring needed replacing due to corrosion at under 3 years old and only 20k miles (only 3k miles through the last year thanks to lockdown).

On balance, I'd have another Merc and possibly another GLC.

Had my GLC 220d for 1 month now with 1500km.
-Coming from a w176 a-class I say this is way easier to drive in tight spot thanks to its 360 cam and early warning improved sensors.
-Cruise Control is great even in stop/start traffic.
-I got used to my w176 seats but is now getting used to the GLC seats. Love the ventilation function!
-HUD is great, no need to look down to see the my speed. Downside is I'm small, I like to sit low, and the HUD position is too high that it becomes a distraction. Setting it lower than 1bar below the highest setting will cut the half the info.
-Hey Mercedes works great but fails to recognize my commands almost half of the time
-Bright Headlights with Intelligent Hi-beam assist, but should now be used on long straights since it can't detect cars that are too far.
-Burmester sounds good, but my old w176 with normal speakers has better base. I'm still not used to the new burmester speakers.
-Moon/sunroof is great but gets dirty quick when it rained and dried without wiping
-Mercedes Me App, love it! Remote start subscription is a bummer but helpful. Can't change aircon settings nor turn it on/off via app so it's useless unless you set the temp before turning off the car.
-Ambient Lighting looks good but the new GLA has better looks imo.
-Rear boot is HUGE! I can put almost anything under the cover! I'm small so I can sleep at the back with back seats folded.
-Ride comfort is good, but I like to set it to Sport since I get boat sick.

So far so good! I just wish the MBUX is as good as the w177 a class. -_- GLC Facelift has lower spec cpu and mbux functions
