Wheel vibration over bumps

Just in the first weeks of our new GLC 300, when going over bumps, we get a fast vibration in the wheel that hits the bump, almost like a broken strut type of feeling. It happens on both wheels. We have the 18's. Anybody else get that?

No, both myself & the wife have the 18" wheels and both GLC's glide over bumps very well. There have been some instances of duff front shock absorbers, perhaps it's worth a visit to yer local dealer to have it checked over ?
Most likely would be the struts. Definitely would go straight to the dealer for a front-end inspection though
Doubt it could be anything else like any of the links, more than likely it's what has been mentioned above, the struts. Take it into your local MB dealer and see what they have to say from doing an inspection. The entire process should be free, covered under warranty.
Hey, My GLC 300 does the exact same thing with the suspension you described it. I took it to two different dealers and they said the it's normal for these trucks, which I believe is complete B.S! I feel as its unsafe. You can hear the sound from the front vibrating.

I'm picking up my truck tomorrow from the dealership and will have it looked at my friends shop.

That's what i've known it to be at times, them giving you the run around unfortunately. Usually it's done to delay thing while they wait for a solution in a TSB or something.

Keep us posted on what that independent shop says.
I agree with you. They are just stalling until they find exactly what's the issue. I told the dealer, if I have any damages to the truck due to suspension or get into a accident, it'll be you're fault because I reported these issues. I hope more ppl with this issue report it to the dealer so they can come up with the solution.

I had other two issues, which they have fixed. While driving there was creeping noise coming from the dash board and driver side seat cover kept on coming off.

I'll keep you guys posted on the suspension.

Just very disappointed with the suspension otherwise the truck is amazing. I recently blacked out the logo's in the back. It looks nice and stands out.

Make sure they give you a copy of a work order or something that has you're report of noise on it. Just so you have documentation for proof
Yes, I have the same thing. I especially notice it when on the highway and I hit a pothole or series of bumps ... the wheel vibrates like a bell almost. It is an odd sensation but it does not seem to affect the traction or performance that I can tell. Also have the creaking noise - but they have yet to fix :-(

Is the creaking noise coming from the dashboard?
The creaking was from a dust book on the suspension issue
I've had the same issue and after having my service department go through the suspension and steering thoroughly (I even took the service person on a test drive and recreated the issue for him several times), they found nothing wrong other than the tires were over-inflated from delivery and were never set to the proper pressure. Since then I've continued experiencing the vibration but at a lesser level.
I've now come to believe after reading a review from a car magazine that the issue is directly related to the run-flat tires. The much harder sidewalls on these tires do produce a harsher response over sharp ruts and bumps. A couple of times over a particularly bad pothole the tire absorption has been shockingly bad.
I guess I can try to bob and weave around every rut on the road but then again that wouldn't be a very comfortable drive either. This is my first experience with this kind of tire and it's very disappointing, unacceptable.
My recourse will be to purchase a new set of non run-flat tires and improve the comfort of the ride and the steering vibration that way.

I can see how the run-flats would give you an very uncomfortable ride, especially when they're at that high of an inflation level. But I don't see why they would provide a vibration... this is quite striking.
I am having the same issue. Dealer tech had no suggestions or really a clue. My take (based on a few years as a mechanical engineer) is that the suspension is not tuned correctly. The vibration is damped in a car without this issue.

I'm quite concerned about how this could create a loss of control on an icy or wet road. The chatter means the tire is being unweighted and weighted rapidly which is similar to what happens during a skid. I don't mean to be an alarmist but I really think this is a serious issue.

I suggest we continue and add to this thread and use it as we engage with our respective dealerships and MB regional managers.
I have the same issue - it is unnerving to have such a lingering vibration in the steering wheel. I have been trying to figure out what sets it off the most and for me it is driving across the GW bridge in New York city where you hit bumps and small potholes as you are making slight turns, e.g., on the on ramps. NEW York City appears to really bring this wheel shimmy on (I live in Washington DC). I have not gone to the dealer yet.
Front end bouncing

I too have experienced the excessive bounce/vibration from the front end when going over the slightest bump. I notice it even when hitting a skip in the road pavement (the 1 inch expansion joint gap on most highways). Yes I did almost lose control of the vehicle when hitting an expansion joint on a curve. The vehicle does seem to lose contact with pavement when this occurs. The excessive vibration feels like over inflated tires; however, I haven't made it into service yet to check the problem. I do not believe it is the run flat tires, because I just had an X5 with these same tires and no vibration whatsoever. This is disappointing considering you expect a higher standard from MB. I do believe that this vibration is capable of causing accidents. I will follow up with the dealer now that I realize the issue is not specific to my vehicle

Maybe something needs to be realigned or tuned because that sounds dangerous. If it has the potential to cause an accident, your dealership should report it to Mercedes Benz.
I have the same issue. I took it to MB Laguna Niguel for its first Service A. While there I reported the suspension bounce. They found nothing and say it is working as designed. I'll keep after them
