Navigation Option Not Showing Up in App

I purchased a 2024 GLC 300 4 Matic SUV in November 2024. When I was considering purchasing the vehicle, I stated my disappointment in learning it did not have Navigation built in.. I was told by the salesman and the manager of online sales that it could be added, so I went ahead and purchased the car. When I got home and attempted to add this, it was not showing up in the Digital Extras in the app. I have all the other luxury options, MBUX, etc. I absolutely HATE using Apple Car Play. I have always had built in Navigation in previous MB vehicles. The salesman and the head of the Service department at the dealership have told me it can be added, but no one can understand why it isn't showing up on the app. I took my vehicle in to the dealership so they could experiment and update the software. It appeared to be doing what it was supposed to do, but it was unsuccessful. The internal paperwork clearly shows Navigation is an available add on option but no one can figure out how to make this happen. The head of Service is perplexed and trying to help me, and has escalated this issue to MB, but after months of dancing around this, there is no resolution. I'm wondering if there is a chip missing? A defective app? Wrong software used for the update? I find it unacceptable that MB is blowing me off saying the car isn't equipped with the hardware when the paperwork says that it is. Has anyone else had this issue? If so, was it solved, and how?

to do during this process, but

I am facing the same issue. In the Mercedes Benz store, the navigation shows as not compatible with my 2024 GLC 300 4matic, but under the system information, there is an option to view map data.

I found the hidden dealer menu and upon entering, navigation is listed as deactivated, so I know the car supports it.

I did notice that the Mercedes Benz store under navigation, there was supposed to be a software update in Sept of 2024 for it to be available, but in the hidden dealer menu, mine shows the last navigation update of Jun 2024.

Not sure if that is the issue, but something I have found so far.

Thanks for your reply. I have gotten as far as you have, actually a little further, but no resolve. I contacted the dealership and the head of the Service department had me bring my vehicle in so they could update the software. (I purchased a Certified Pre-Certified vehicle with low miles.). They did the software update and it took a few hours but the said it was doing everything it was supposed to do, but it was ultimately unsuccessful. I don't think software is the issue. The head of service is still trying very hard to help me and he said he has been in touch with a MB engineer and they want me to bring my vehicle so they can connect it to "Live Case", and take a look at the codes. I am assuming this is someone at the headquarters in the Atlanta area. I will report back on this forum once the engineer has a report for me. Fingers crossed that this can be resolved and I am happy to share my experience in hope that it will help you too. What a frustrating mystery!

My dealership (Mercedes-Benz of Easton) in Columbus, OH was successful at getting navigation working in my GLC 300 4matic. They mentioned having to reflash the computer which took 5-6 hours and then the car showed as compatible. Navigation is now working successfully and currently downloading the map data for the regions I specified.

You should not have to access a hidden menu. You should be able to purchase this on your MB phone app. Go to the upper left corner and click on the image of a car, then go to Digital Extras and click on Navigation to add it and follow the steps. If you are unable to access this, I recommend contacting your dealer.

Clearly I’m not all that bright as I’m unable to determine the version after careful review of the window sticker and a VIN look up across several sites. Based on that, I’m going to assume that mine is Basic, so that is most likely the issue with my ability to have navigation added. Buyer beware, I didn’t do my due diligence when purchasing. Love the vehicle though!

Your welcome. That's a great coincidence that you are also in OC. You can call him if that's easier for you..Ask for Matt Moskal and tell him I told you he is an expert in problem solving now and that I suggested you contact him. He's a really nice guy and if he can't get this done for you I doubt anyone else can. Let us know how things turn out for you.
